PUTNAM COUNTY, Tenn.- Rescue workers were forced to use some extreme measures to free a person trapped in a wrecked vehicle.
Around 3 p.m. Wednesday a vehicle lost control and went off Interstate 40 eastbound near mile marker 279 in Putnam County. The car rolled over several times, trapping the two passengers inside.
Rescue workers had to take the roof off the vehicle to get to the victims. Officials from the Rescue Squad as well as Putnam County Emergency Medical Service personnel responded to the scene as assisted in removing the victims.
The two occupants were transported by ambulance to Cookeville Regional Medical Center. The names and conditions of the victims have not been released.
