Residents File Lawsuit For Clean Water

Posted: Updated:

BELL BUCKLE, Tenn.- Residents of a Bedford County town have filed a lawsuit about the quality of their drinking water. They say it's been murky for nearly two years.

The problem started when Bell Buckle had to switch from spring to river water. The change in water type stirred up all the dirt and rust sitting in the iron pipes throughout the city. Those are the pipes that residents now want replaced once and for all.

Residents also said they are being too much for water service and the water they get smells, and is often cloudy and yellow. The city says repeated testing shows the water is safe, but residents aren't happy, and say they've been dealing with the problem for years.
