MT. JULIET, Tenn. – The Tennessee Department of Transportation cut the ribbon on a major road expansion in Mt. Juliet.
TDOT Commissioner John Schroer joined Mt. Juliet city officials on Monday to officially open the new expanded section of Mt. Juliet Road.
The project expanded the road from three lanes to five between I-40 and Lebanon Road, and also added sidewalks and bike lanes.
Other improvements include traffic signal upgrades at four intersections.
The city of Mt. Juliet also included a crosswalk to connect with the city's greenway.
The project cost $9-million dollars and took several years to complete.
