CAVE CITY, Ky. – Two people were killed in fatal crashes involving two tractor-trailers and two passenger vehicles that closed the northbound lanes of Interstate 65 at the Hart-Barren county line in Kentucky on Sunday.
At least six others were seriously injured in the two crashes Sunday likely caused by the rainy weather and wet conditions.
In one of the crashes, Kentucky State Police say one person in a passenger vehicle was killed in the crash Sunday after one of the tractor-trailers crossed the median.
The deadly wrecks shut down the highway for 10 hours.
Lawmakers are trying to make the road safer by widening it, after 11 deaths on that stretch of the interstate per year.
