NASHVILLE, Tenn.- An
interesting sport at the fairgrounds was getting attention Sunday.
Flyball is a relay race
with four dogs on a team. The dogs jump over hurdles and then step on a spring-
loaded box that shoots out a tennis ball. Once they catch ball, they run back
over the four hurdles. Whoever is fastest wins. Competitors say the great thing
is any dog or breed can play, you just have to have patience.
"It's hard to train,
you think it'd be very easy, but some of these dogs it takes two years to train
to get to the pattern down. But once they get it down it's really balls all
over the place," said Flyball Judge, Ule James.
More than 100 dogs from
six states competed. Nashville has its own team called the "Music City
Road Dogs." They hold beginner classes. Click here for more information.
