Metro Offers Self-Surrender to Rid Outstanding Warrants

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Sixty-four people with outstanding warrants took advantage of Metro's self-surrender program.

"I was running. I'm tired now.  I was running for driving with no license. Let me get this warrant off me man," said Nathan Reed who had his warrant dismissed.

The program recently allowed people who have received a citation, but didn't show up on their booking date to have the charges resolved, all with the help of judges and public defenders. Most of the people who turned themselves in were in trouble for crimes like driving without a license, trespassing, and drug possession.
