NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man was shot while driving a car along I-24 early Wednesday morning.
Police said a white four-door sedan pulled up alongside a Lincoln Town Car, and opened fire. The driver of the Lincoln, 22-year-old DeAndre Person, was hit in the shoulder.
Person then pulled into Love's Travel stop on Trinity Lane and called for help just before 3 a.m.
There were three other people inside the car: 20-year-old, Terae Person, 19-year-old Davon Dixon, and 32-year-old, Jeffery Middleton.
One of the passengers in the car told NewsChannel 5 the victim was a DJ who had just performed with a rap group at Klub Cirok on Murfreesboro Road.
"Coming up the interstate, listening to the music, texting the females, and all like that. Next thing I know, you know, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. But I didn't see who did it, I didn't see nothing. It just happened like in the moment," said Dixon, aka Kool-aid.
Person was released from the hospital after being treated for minor injuries. There were at least five bullet holes in the car, but no one else was hurt.
Police were investigating the motive behind the shooting.
