GALLATIN, Tenn.- One person was stabbed at a restaurant in Gallatin late Tuesday night.
Officials said that the incident happened at the Longhorn Steakhouse on Nashville Pike Tuesday around 9:30 p.m.
Gallatin Police said two men got into a fight inside the restaurant. 55-year-old Ricky Trout was stabbed in the neck and was transported by emergency medical helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Trout went into surgery Wednesday morning and is in stable condition. The other man was hospitalized with minor injuries.
"This is not something that had to happen. These gentlemen could have walked away but they chose to get into it," said Gallatin Police officer Bill Storment.
Police said they were still investigating and were unclear on what charges Trout and the other man involved in the fight might face.
