RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. – A home in Rutherford County was destroyed by fire on Monday morning.
It broke out around 9 a.m. at a home on Fresca Court, south of Smyrna. The homeowner saw smoke inside her kitchen. She went outside to investigate and neighbors called 911 after seeing the smoke.
When fire crews got on the scene, the house was fully engulfed.
No one was hurt.
This was the third fire in the neighborhood in the last year and a half. Residents depend on volunteer firefighters to answer 911 calls.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, but fire officials said they will look at electrical wiring to see if that was the cause.
