NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police continue to investigate a shooting in West Nashville that left a man wounded.
It happened around 3:45 a.m. on Louisiana Avenue. Kenneth Light, 62, was injured in the shooting.
Police said Light's two adult grandsons told police that their mother woke them after hearing a kicking noise at the front door.
They said they saw Light standing on the driver's side of a small dark car and heard one or two shots. Light fell in the street.
The grandsons said they both fired shots at the car as it drove away.
Light was listed in critical but stable condition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Police have not yet determined a motive for the shooting, but said they have not ruled a drug connection because officers smelled marijuana inside the home and found drug paraphernalia in plain view.
