NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A family was displaced after fire damaged their West Nashville home overnight Thursday.

It happened around midnight at a mobile home on Indian Creek Road. Officials said the fire broke out in a back bedroom.

Initially firefighters were told a man was trapped inside, but he'd made it out by the time they arrived. He had gone back in trying to rescue a family pet.

There is heavy damage to the inside of the home, and the family went to stay with relatives. No one was hurt.

Fire investigators will be back out on the scene Friday morning to try to determine what started the fire.
