HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. - Police in Hendersonville said they have caught the man at the center of massive Ponzi scheme, who allegedly swindled more than a million dollars from local residents.

NewsChannel 5 got exclusive video of when Denney was arrested at his Sumner County home on Thursday night.

Officials began investigating 28-year-old Charles Denney back in November after one of the victims of his Ponzi scheme came forward.

Police said that Denney swindled $1.3 million from at least 12 victims, possibly more. Police believe that he had been running the scheme since June 2010.

He was booked into the Sumner County jail, and charged with six counts of theft over $60,000, four counts of theft over $10,000 and two counts of theft over $2,000. More charges are possibly pending.
