WILSON COUNTY, Tenn. - A Wilson County parent has been barred from her daughter's elementary school and on Thursday she was formally charged for filing a false police report against at THP Officer.
Jackie Shoot has already acted as her own lawyer in a civil case she filed against the school resource officer at her child's school. Now many want to see if she will represent herself in the criminal trial she faces.
Officials said Shook filed a report against a Tennessee Highway Patrol Officers, also a fellow parent at her child's school, claiming he was harassing her at her home. Wilson County Sheriff Terry Ashe said the report was completely fabricated.
"She positively says,and this is on video, that is him. And she know him. Shesaid it was hime, when at that very time that officer was on duty in another part of the county," said Sheriff Terry Ashe.
Ashe said the conflict should have never gotten to the court level. He feels it should have been handled at the school.
Shook said the whole mess began because her 6th grade daughter was being bullied. Many in the community feel that now Shook is the bully and have filed a suit against her. Shook has been accused of disrupting the school day, stalking the school and even videotaping the going-ons at the school.
In her civil lawsuits against parent Ashley Davis and the school resource officer Jackie Shook accused them of filing a false police report; of even following and intimidating her and her daughter. Also, she sued on claims of harassment and defamation of character.
Judge Barry Tatum dismissed both of Shook's civil suits, and instead arrested Shook.NewsChannel5 contacted the director of schools today, to respond to the sheriff's claim that the issue should've been stopped early-on, but he was unable to comment.
