Amber Peveler
HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn.- (AP/NewsChannel5) A fugitive wanted for the murder of a 9-month-old infant was brought from Mississippi to the Sumner County Jail on Friday.
U.S. Marshal George White said that 27-year-old Randall Thomas Beaty was arrested this week in Brookhaven. White said Beaty had been living in a travel trailer at the home of a relative. Beaty has been charged with first degree murder and child abuse.
Police in Sumner County said that Beaty and Amber Peveler were both charged after their 9-month-old daughter was found unresponsive at Beaty's home in October 2010.
Officials began an investigation after the child was admitted to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital with serious injuries and died as a result of the injuries.
Amber Peveler turned herself into police on Friday and was charged with aggravated child abuse and neglect as well as reckless endangerment. Bond was set at $100,000 for Peveler.
Beaty was booked into the Sumner County Jail. His bond amount was not released.
