Men Arrested After Stealing Metro PD Bait Car

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Police in Nashville arrested two men Wednesday, accused of trying to steal and dismantle a Metro Police bait car.

Officers said the two men, Richard Samuel Wilder, 31, of Dickson, and Hank Lewis Newsome, 47 took the abandoned car from its post on I-40 around 12:30 p.m. The two men took the car to a Waffle House at Charlotte Pike and began attempting to remove the gas tank.

Police quickly located the Bait Car and arrested both men. Both Wilder, a convicted burglar, and Newsome, a convicted thief, were jailed on charges of auto theft and felony vandalism.
