NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - James Franklin has been telling people for months the same old Vanderbilt is no more. Now he's taken another big step delivering a recruiting class expected not only to be the best the Commodores have signed in the modern era but among the nation's best.
Vanderbilt is expecting to sign 22 players and already had letters in Wednesday morning from Tennessee's top running back in Brian Kimbrow from Memphis who committed last summer and never wavered. Rivals.com projects Vanderbilt's class as the Southeastern Conference's only group featuring all players rated three stars or higher.
Will Wolford, a Vanderbilt alum and 13-year NFL veteran, joined Franklin in the office Wednesday. He said this is Vanderbilt's best class ever and is glad his alma mater tied up Franklin with an extension.
