NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Mullican Flooring is expanding its operations in Johnson City, creating 164 jobs over three years.
State officials announced Tuesday in Nashville that the company will relocate all manufacturing operations to the former Superior Industries building where a new production line will be added. Mullican now employs 130 in Johnson City.
The new line will replace a segment of the company's engineered volume that is currently sourced in Asia, meaning jobs are being returned to the U.S.
Founded in 1985, Mullican Flooring is based in Johnson City. It lists itself as the country's second largest manufacturer of solid hardwood flooring.
