NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Metro Police need help solving a murder that happened at the Beechwood Apartments on Bell Road.
On January 5 a pest control worker entered the unit rented by 21-year-old Jairo Zuniga. As he walked through the apartment, he discovered Zuniga lying in a pool of blood on the floor.
Police said Zuniga was shot and killed.
"Whoever it was that was inside the apartment, it appeared there was not a fight or anything like that," said Scott Sulfridge with the Metro Nashville Police Department.
Police think robbery may have been the motive. The body was discovered on a Tuesday. Police said the evidence suggests Zuniga was shot and killed around 9 a.m. Zuniga had not been seen since he left his job the previous Sunday.
"He worked at Kroger in Nashboro Village and everybody that worked with him liked him. His boss liked him. He showed up for work on time. He was just a well liked person," said Sulfridge.
Police said Zuniga had a side a lot of people may not have known about. He was selling illegal drugs.
"We do have information that he was selling small quantities of marijuana, and we don't know if that had anything to do with this or not, but it's a possibility," said Sulfridge.
Police also believe the killer is someone Zuniga knew. There was no forced entry into the apartment.
