Middle Tennessee Construction
September 2 – September 8, 2010 

DAVIDSON COUNTY, I-40 and Robertson Road Interchange: (Recovery Act Project)

       Thursday September 2, 8PM-5AM, There will be alternating lane closures on I-40 eastbound and westbound in order to remove overhang jacks.  One lane will remain open in each direction. (On Thursday, I-40 westbound lanes will not be closed until 11PM).

       Tuesday September 7 through Thursday September 9, 8PM-5AM, The I-40 westbound flyover bridge to Briley Pkwy. northbound will be closed in order to mill, pave, and stripe Briley Pkwy. northbound and the Robertson Rd. merge lane. 

DAVIDSON COUNTY, I-65 at the junction with SR 12 (Rosa Parks Blvd.)

       Tuesday September 7 and Wednesday September 8, 9PM-5AM, There will be alternating lane closures on Rosa Parks Blvd. for relocation of barrier rail.

       Tuesday September 7 and Wednesday September 8, 9PM-5AM, There will be alternating lane closures on I-65 for the removal of bridge overhang jacks.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, Median Drainage Improvement on I-24 near MM 53.0

       Thursday September 2 and Tuesday September 7 and Wednesday September 8, 9PM-5AM, There will be one lane closed on I-24 westbound near MM 53.0 in order to adjust castings and to pave around catchbasins.

DAVIDSON and WILLIAMSON COUNTIES, ITS Phase III:

       Thursday September 2 through Friday September 3 (noon) and Tuesday September 7 through Wednesday September 8, 9AM-3PM and 7PM-6AM, There will be periodic day and night time shoulder closures at various locations within the areas listed below in order to install devices, perform electrical work, and pole installation.

  • Briley Pkwy, both directions, between I-40 and Centennial Blvd (MM 6 to MM 27)
  • I-24, both directions, between Old Hickory Blvd and Bell Rd (MM 40 to MM 61)
  • I-40, both directions, between US 70 and Old Hickory Blvd (MM 196 to MM 222)
  • I-65, both directions, between Concord Rd and Long Hollow Pkwy (MM 70 to MM 97)
  • I-440, both directions, between Hillsboro Pike and I-24 (MM 3 to MM 7)
  • Ellington Pkwy, both directions, between Briley Pkwy and Spring St
  • Vietnam Veterans, both directions, between I-65 and New Shackle Island (MM 0 to MM 5)

DAVIDSON COUNTY, Resurfacing on SR 255 (Harding Place) from Franklin Rd. to Recovery Rd.

       Thursday September 2 through Wednesday September 8, 8PM-6AM, (excluding holiday weekend), There will be alternating lane closures on Harding Place in order to replace loop wire, install guardrail and pave the roadway.  One lane will remain open in each direction.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, Resurfacing on SR 251 (River Rd.) from the Cheatham Co. line to Old Charlotte Pike

       Thursday September 2 through Wednesday September 8, 7AM-3PM, (excluding holiday weekend), There will be alternating lane closures on SR 251 in order to install permanent striping and perform guardrail repairs.  Flaggers will be utilized.

REGION 3 On-Call Guardrail:

       Thursday September 1 through Wednesday September 8, 8PM-6AM, (each night), (excluding holiday weekend), There will be one lane closures at various locations on interstates and state routes in Davidson, Smith, Williamson, Humphreys, Montgomery and Robertson Counties for guardrail repair and installation.

REGION 3, Longitudinal Joint Stabilization on Various State Routes

       Tuesday September 7 and Wednesday September 8, 7PM-5AM, There will be lane closures on White Bridge Rd. from Charlotte Pike to Harding Rd. in order to work on joints.

REGION 3, Retracing of Pavement Markings on Interstate and State Routes

       Thursday September 2 and Tuesday September 7 through Wednesday September 8, 8PM-5AM, There will be mobile operations on I-24 in Rutherford County from MM 70.5 to MM 97 in order to restripe the roadway.

CHEATHAM COUNTY, Slide Repair on SR 249

       Now through approximately December 15, SR 249 at LM 4.6 north of Pegram will be closed for emergency slide repair. Detours will be in place.

GILES COUNTY, I-65 Weigh Station

       Thursday September 2, 8PM-12Midnight, There will be one lane closed on I-65 northbound from MM 4.0 to MM 6.0 at the weigh station on the off ramp for pavement marking.

MAURY COUNTY, Resurfacing on SR 6 near Industrial Park Rd. to  US 31

       Thursday September 2 through Wednesday September 8, 6AM-6PM, (excluding holiday weekend), There will be alternating lane closures on SR 6 in order to install permanent pavement markings and guardrail.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Bridge Construction on SR 13 (Wilma Rudolph) over the Red River

       Thursday September 2 through Wednesday September 8, 9AM-3PM, (excluding holiday weekend),There will be alternating lane closures on Wilma Rudolph Blvd. (SR 13) southbound over the Red River in order to perform bridge work.

RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Widening on Waldron Rd (Recovery Act Project)

       Thursday September 2 through Wednesday September 8: No closures scheduled.

SUMNER COUNTY, SR 109 Widening from SR 76 To SR 52

       Thursday September 2 through Wednesday September 8: No closures scheduled.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Concord Rd. from Sunset Rd. to Edmondson Pike

       Thursday September 2 through Wednesday September 8, 9AM-3PM, (excluding holiday weekend) There will be one lane closed on Concord Road from Crockett Rd. to Sunset for building golf cart/walk path and dressing slopes. Flaggers will be utilized for this operation. 

       Now through approximately Thursday September 30, Concord Rd. will be closed from Edmondson Pike to Crockett Rd. in order to widen the roadway.  Detours will be in place with message boards.

WILSON COUNTY, SR-171 (Mt Juliet Road) Widening: (Recovery Act Project)

       Thursday September 2 through Wednesday September 8, 9AM-3PM, (excluding holiday weekend), There will be temporary lane closures on Mt. Juliet Road (SR-171) northbound and southbound, from Division Street to Lebanon Road for the purpose of performing storm sewer installation and excavation for temporary widening.     

WILSON COUNTY, SR 109 widening from I-40 to SR 24

       Thursday September 2 through Wednesday September 8: No closures scheduled.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:

Davidson County

       Thursday September 2 until noon on Friday September 3 and Tuesday September 7 through Wednesday September 8, 9AM-3PM, There will be possible lane closures at various locations on State Routes and Interstates in Middle Tennessee in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.

       Thursday September 2 until noon on Friday September 3 and Tuesday September 7 through Wednesday September 8, 9AM-3PM, There will be mobile operations in various locations in Davidson County for ditch cleaning. 

       Thursday September 2 until noon on Friday September 3 and Tuesday September 7 through Wednesday September 8, 7PM-1AM, There will be mobile operations in various locations in Davidson and Williamson Counties for drainage cleaning. 

       Thursday September 2 until noon on Friday September 3 and Tuesday September 7 through Wednesday September 8, 9AM-3PM and 7PM-1AM, There will be mobile operations in various locations in Davidson County for vegetation control.  This will affect the shoulders or outside lanes.

       Friday September 3, 12AM-5AM, There will be one lane closed on 21st Avenue northbound from I-440 to Wedgewood Avenue for utilities.  One lane will remain open.

       Tuesday September 7 through Wednesday September 8, 9AM-3PM, Briley Parkway in both directions from McGavock Pike to Elm Hill Pike will have one lane closures for drainage work.  Three lanes will remain open.

       Tuesday September 7 through Wednesday September 8, 8PM-5AM, There will be one lane closed in both directions on 21st Avenue from I-440 to Wedgewood Avenue for paving.  One lane will remain open in both directions.

       Tuesday September 7, 8PM-12AM, The right lane will be closed on I-40 westbound at the 212 mile marker for shoulder repair.  Two lanes will remain open.

Rutherford County

Thursday September 2 and Tuesday September 7 through Wednesday September 8, 8PM-5AM, Interstate 24 both directions in Rutherford County - Between DAVIDSON-RUTHERFORD COUNTY LINE (Mile Marker: 63.1) and MILE MARKER 83 (Mile Marker: 83.0), drainage work will cause temporary lane closures. One lane will remain open.

Sumner County

       Thursday September 2, 9AM-3PM, There will be one lane closed on I-65 southbound at the 101.0 mile marker to the 103.0 mile marker in Sumner County in order to mow and cut brush on the right-of-way.  One lane will remain open with visible traffic control in place. 

Motorists are encouraged to use caution and obey reduced speed limits in all TDOT work zones, regardless of lane closure activity.
