Walgreens Robber On The Loose

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Thursday morning, police continued to search for a man they said robbed a West Nashville pharmacy Tuesday night at gunpoint.

The robbery happened just after 9 p.m. at the Walgreens on Harding Road. Police said the man was armed and wanted narcotics.

"He proceeded to the back of the store, to the pharmacy, where he jumped the counter. He demanded oxycontin from the pharmacist. The pharmacist told him there was no oxycontin available, but he did scrape the shelves of other narcotics," said Metro detective Stephen Jolley.

Early Thursday morning, NewsChannel 5 reporter Syreeta Barker and photojournalist John Pate found a bag of oxycodone pills in the Walgreens parking lot. The Walgreens pharmacist said that the suspect got away with oxycodone.

Police said the suspect is a white man in his 20s with a tattoo of the sun on his neck, and he has been involved in other robberies, including a Walgreens in the Hermitage area.
